Manuel D. Baldemor (b. 1947, Philippines) is a painter, sculptor, printmaker, writer, and book illustrator. In 1972 and 1973, he won the Grand Prize Award in the painting competition of the Art Association of the Philippines and represented the country in the XIV Salon International Art in Paris. Since then, he has held numerous one-man exhibits in museums and galleries in the Philippines and cities around the world including Seoul, Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka, Tokyo, Cairo, Teheran, Tel-Aviv, Ankara, Cascais, Madrid, Santiago, Mainz, Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Prague, Bratislava, Vienna, Warsaw, Budapest, Moscow, Bern, Basel, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Uppsala, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Bergen, Vilnius, Tallinn, Riga, London, Edinburgh, and New York. He received 24 local and international awards and grants and has been chosen artist-in-residence in Japan, Israel, Chile, Portugal, Estonia, and Switzerland. Reproductions of his works adorn UNICEF greeting cards and are distributed worldwide.
