SMU Arts Fest | 25x25 Exhibition

In this exhibition, students and alumni engage with selected artworks highlighted in 25x25, a place-making project in the form of a self-guided audio tour that brings the audience on a journey through campus to encounter 25 donated artworks in celebration of SMU25. Under the mentorship of artists Deanna Ng and Susie Wong, and poet Yong Shu Hoong, each artist develops their own method and perspective, whether responding directly to the theme and subject of the artwork, or drawing parallel threads to their personal biographies and lived experiences. In doing so, the artists have expanded upon the multi-faceted encounters with art and the collection.

ABOUT 2560
SMU Arts Fest takes centre stage once again, commemorating two major milestones—SMU’s 25th anniversary and Singapore’s 60th birthday.
These celebrations inspire this year’s festival theme, 2560. The “25” honours SMU’s vibrant journey—its bold beginnings, youthful spirit, and forward-looking aspirations. The “60” pays tribute to Singapore’s resilience, cultural richness, and emergence as a dynamic global city. Together, 2560 bridges tradition and innovation, connecting past achievements with the promise of the future.
Building on this theme, the festival’s diverse programmes spotlight youth talent and features homegrown stories and conversations, inviting audiences into a shared experience that is both personal and collective, nostalgic yet refreshingly new.
Join the celebrations from 22 Aug to 28 Sep!
